Another shoot with my brother Mark. We’d arranged to meet here in the early hours to shoot some night images and then catch the rising sun.
With the Wirral just across the estury and Liverpool beyond that it seemed a fools errand to try and catch the night sky from this location but flushed with my sucess in Galloway i thought I would try the same thing here.
The foregroung and lighthouse are lit by my trust handheld flash while a 20 second expose rendered the sky without too much star trailing.
It took some fancy processing to reduce the light pollution but there you go.
In the gathering light of the gloaming, curving shapes of the channels on the beach caught our eyes.
Being careful not to get in each others way or disturb the sand in area we wanted to shoot we found different angles to work from before moving to catch the first light of the sun itsef on the tilting lighthouse.
As the tide rose we moved slowly up the beach with it until even the footpath sign, with it’s poignant wreath of flowers, was finally inundated
