An Searrach
21st August 2015
It is a little ironic that the last day of our stay on the Dingle Peninsula proved to be our most productive in terms of both weather and locations.
An Searrach is a prominent sea stack that is best seen from the area around Kinard Beach.
On this day, the hills and mountains to the south and the clouds they nurtured provided a shifting palette of hues and tones which for a change dragged my longer lens out of the bag in exchange for my more usual wide angles.
It was clear to see that this location merited a another look as the sun moved over towards the West so after an early evening meal I set out for a few last shots as the sun dropped towards the horizon.
The water was much higher now, limiting my movement on the beach slightly but as the evening fell it proved well worth the return trip.
